Who said mountaineering can’t be done in style.
Warm, stretchy, does not loose shape.
One minor adjustment could be done to the colar. Seems
To be out of shape when the zipper is not fully closed. Due to the stretch it tends to pull back which caused the colar to pull half way down the neck. But it doesn’t bother me at all.

Exactly what it says it is. It is nicer than I had hoped...even at this price point. So that is saying something. Warm, soft. Detailed. Tailored correctly. A very nice wool baselayer with some style. I usually wear this over a very light base layer, and under a breathable mid layer puffy on cold days.

Best quality cold weather clothing available

Have bought a number of Jottnar clothing over the years (base layers, trousers and down jackets). All have been of an uncompromising standard and performed beyond expectation in the -30c of Norway to the +30c of the middle east.

Recently bought a Heimdall base layer as a back up to my Jottnar Uller base layer (which has lasted daily use and abuse over the last 4 years) whilst working out in Norway. Unfortunately due to difficulties in the BFPO shipping system (and no fault of Jottnar) my order was unaccounted for and undelivered.

My problem was quickly dealt with and rectified personally by Tommy and his team. They were extremely helpful, where it was evident that customer care is at the centre of what they are about. Best customer service I’ve ever had.

Simply put, a great company producing the best quality clothing that is designed by those with the experience of working in cold environments. Rivals and surpasses any other commercial outdoor brand (Arcteryx / Fjallraven / Rab / Crux etc). My go to brand.

Excellent winter base layer: Warm , comfortable , well designed plus comes in Nightshadow - a definitely subtle colour.

Worn in Iceland

Touring in and outside of Reykjavik, this base layer saved me when I was a bit under-dressed for the wind/rain we received. It wears like a synthetic baselayer but has the feel of a sweater, so while a tad itchy the upper warmth and heat retention is top notch. I wore it to Geysirs, Gulfalls and the North Atlantic Rift under a medium weight overcoat and was never cold. I can only imagine it does better in a more active state. Worn by itself it looks like a sweater you can wear out for dinner and drinks. Definitely a technical piece that is good for work and play.
