Impressive across the board. Premium built, great fit, perfectly mapped to the body. After putting the Vanir LT pants to the test, I was once again delighted to put my hands on a Jöttnar Skjoldr product. The Odin has shown a superb performance in terms of waterproofness and breathability. And I felt confident in its robustness, it really seems built to last. This jacket is comparable to the Arc’teryx Alpha SV, but with even better attention to details—such as shown by the anti-snag hem drawcords and more comfortable beard guards—and a feeling of higher breathability.
This jacket has proven to be a stronghold, even in tough mid-winter conditions.
If you enjoy getting into the wilderness and exposing yourself to the elements, on a wide spectrum of terrains and activities and a broad range of cold temperatures, this jacket might be the perfect one for you. Absolutely worth the investment.
Used this last weekend in Glencoe and a few other winter day on the hill . Found it to be properly tested in the constant rain and gale force winds on the hill over the weekend. Found it performed as advertised, very breathable and yet did not let in any rain. I wore a base layer underneath which was pretty much dry by the time I got off the mountain. Where as my cousins base layer was drenched in sweat in his gore tex jacket. Overall yes it is expensive, but it is worth it. It beats my RAB event jacket in terms of breathability and in water resistance hands down, and past jackets I have used in Scotland, Norway and the Lakes.
